Fall into It

We are in the heart of the Fall season now. The days grow shorter and the nights colder. Frost nips the grasses and old man Winter has begun to stir from their slumber.

The leaves in this part of the country are just past their peak and were particularly beautiful this year. Our tiny little area has been swarmed with our neighbors coming to take refuge from the cities and enjoy a bit of our leafy goodness for what will likely be the last time they see us until the Spring.

On the farm we started plowing in the field for the year and just have a couple of root vegetables left to rummage through at this point in the harvest. It was another successful year, another bountiful harvest, and always more work than the locals could expect. Soon we will be gathering with those dear to us and celebrating the arrival of Winter and the end of this year.

What a year.

As far as they go, personally, this one has been uniquely interesting. Many of our friends and family were able to visit us this year stretching all the way from last winter to now. That had the benefit of filling our house with the sounds of laughter and camaraderie and generally wonderful celebrations of our times shared together. I know I’m not alone when I say I have truly enjoyed all the time with all who have been able to visit and bring that joy into our home.

We were also able to finish up the requirements for the long awaited Alpha Prototype and launched that software package just last month. While that closes a long chapter in mydigifarm’s history, more importantly it opens the doors to the exciting parts of what’s to come next. I know the team is even more excited to work on the next chapters of this project as it grows more complex and interesting.

That’s not even mentioning we actually started this farm in a new city in this same calendar year. That took a tremendous amount of effort to get off the ground…err…. in the ground. We started fairly small initially but with a solid foundation and we are expecting the coming years to be even better!

All around what an interesting and exciting year. I hope all of you have wonderful Autumn and Winter seasons. Enjoy the apple ciders. Remember to gather and sing around your bonfires while enjoying this time with your family and friends. And last but never least, always try to keep yourself warm until we get to see you again in the Spring.

Happy grow everyone!
